The Montreal Canadiens will take on the Boston Bruins Monday, September 22, 2008 and the Detroit Red Wings will also take on the Boston Bruins Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Halifax Metro Centre. “We are thrilled to bring the excitement of an NHL game to Halifax. The Montreal Canadiens have a huge fan base in Atlantic Canada and it is always entertaining when we play our perennial rival, the Boston Bruins,” says Bob Gainey Executive Vice President and General Manager of The Montreal Canadiens. “Atlantic Canada hockey fans are great supporters of NHL action and we look forward to a great week of hockey in September 2008.”  "The Boston Bruins always enjoy traveling to Halifax for pre-season action, and this year we are excited about squaring off against two Original Six clubs," said Bruins General Manager, Peter Chiarelli. "Our players have enjoyed traveling to Halifax in the past for preseason games, and I am sure that they will be appreciative of the support that they will receive from the great hockey fans of the region when we are there this fall." Harold MacKay, President of Power Promotional Concepts adds: “The Boston Bruins have been excellent partners for us every year in hosting games in this City and we thank them again for bringing two 2008 NHL Pre Season games to us. Bringing Montreal is always a welcomed rivalry and this year bringing the Detroit Red Wings as well will create an awesome NHL week in Halifax.”
