Info

Halifax – Casino Nova Scotia is excited to host two hilarious nights with one of Canada’s best known comedians, Shaun Majumder in the Schooner Showroom on September 14 &15.
Born and raised in Newfoundland and now living in Los Angeles, California, Shaun’s unique style of comedy is described as clean and clever. He refers to everything from his family to holidays, and sometimes employs a free-form style. Shaun is also well known for his many character performances. One of his most notorious characters is his alter ego, the profusely sweaty sport commentator, Raj Binder.
In his short career as a comedian, Shaun’s list of television and feature film appearances continues to grow. Some of his television appearances include CBS’s The Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, and as the host of CBC’s Just for Laughs television specials. Around here, Shaun is best known for his role on CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes. And on January 15, 2007 he appeared on Fox Television’s season premiere of 24. His film credits include The Ladies Man, Pushing Tin and Purpose.
Shaun’s shows and performances have not gone unrecognized. Twice he has been nominated for a Gemini Award; once for The Comedy Network’s On the Edge with Shaun Majumder for Best Comedy Performance and a second nomination for the Halifax Comedy Festival. In 2002 he was awarded the Canadian Comedy Award for Pretty Funny Stand Up.
