Info
After taking home two 2007 JUNO Awards and three 2007 Much Music Video Awards, the Canadian rockers will perform in support of their latest
release II during an all ages tour of Eastern Canada which also includes
stops in Saint John and St. John's. Special guests are illScarlett and
The Saint Alvia Cartel. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and show time is 7:30
p.m. Billy Talent's second album, II, offers 13 tracks including hit singles
"Devil in a Midnight Mass," "Red Flag," "Fallen Leaves" and "Surrender".
Canoe.ca said, "...the beats are a little more urgent. The guitars have
a bit more heft. The hooks and lyrics are sharper. The songs are
leaner. And everything is delivered with more expertise and
confidence." Rocknworld.com said, "This chaotic, noisy energy is barely
harnessed with two vocals, guitars, bass, and drums. Under the constant
threat of flying apart, Billy Talent is able to bring out their best."
Adding to their collection of trophies, Billy Talent recently took home
2007 JUNO Awards for Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year in
April as well as three 2007 Much Music Video Awards, including Peoples'
Choice: Favourite Canadian Group and Best Video and Best Rock Video for "Fallen Leaves" in June.
Billy Talent exploded onto the Canadian music scene in 2003 with their
self-titled debut release, establishing them as a melodic tsunami of
fist-in-the-air rock n' roll. The band received the 2004 JUNO Award for
Best New Group and won Group of the Year and Album of the Year in 2005. With four hit singles including "Try Honesty", "The Ex", "The River
Below", and "Nothing to Lose", the band went on to share the stage with
heroes The Buzzcocks and Janes Addiction, toured withed Lollapalooza and The Warped Tour and performed at the UK's famous Reading and Leeds Festivals.
