(Halifax, N.S.) The Halifax Rainmen is thrilled to host the basketball street team 94INC. in Halifax this August. 94INC. gathered some of the most talented players from all over the United States; players with past experience with AND 1, the Harlem Globetrotters and the American Basketball Association. The basketball phenomenon will make its Canadian debut at the Halifax Metro Centre on August 9th.
“These are extremely talented guys that you won’t see anywhere else. We couldn’t be more proud to be the first to bring them to Canada. Nova Scotia basketball fans are in for a real treat,” said Rainmen owner Andre Levingston.
“The Rainmen made a commitment to bring quality basketball to the area, and this event certainly lends to that commitment,” added Levingston.
94INC has just signed a deal with MTV to film the television show ‘Crash the Courts’ and a film crew will be in Halifax to catch all the high flying fun. The team will travel across the US and abroad working with kids, motivating, educating and uplifting fans everywhere.
Local basketball enthusiasts will have a chance to play against 94INC on game-day by showing their stuff at an open tryout during their visit to Halifax. Spectators can expect excitement on the court as well, with high-flying dunks and ball handling skills from the best in the game; hoop entertainment at the premier level.
This year’s team roster includes street ball favorites Hugh “Baby Shack” Jones, Antwan “8th Wonder” Scott , John “Helicopter” Humphrey, Jamal “Springs” Nelson, Andre “Silk” Poole, “Hot Sauce,” Head Coach Mike Ellis and legendary street-ball announcer Thomas “Duke Tango” Mills.
This event is possible because of the Rainmen’s generous partners, the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation’sSupport4Sport Program and Rogers.
